When I first decided to go back to school, I was a supervisor and server at a restaurant in downtown Toronto. I am very grateful for these experiences because they helped me grow as a person and I got exposure to things like team management, professional communication, training and development, problem-solving, and sales. These positions originally sparked my interest in training and development, so I enrolled in the Business Administration-Human Resources program at George Brown College.
When the time came to pick a co-op placement, I was enjoying my Recruitment & Selection course and I felt like it was something I could see myself doing, so I decided to apply for a Talent Acquisition Co-op opportunity at SickKids, and I absolutely loved it. It was really rewarding during a pandemic to be a part of a team filling the positions of nurses and various other positions in the hospital. When I got the chance to call a successful candidate and hear the reaction of excitement on the other end, I felt like I played a small part in changing someone’s life, and I knew this was the type of work I wanted to be a part of.
I have always wanted to help people and have a job that I am proud to do, and now that I have graduated I am looking forward to doing just that!
I am very excited to be joining Sales Talent Agency! I can’t wait to help people like me who are just starting out in their careers to find their best fit!
