Building Sales Talent Agency has been an amazing experience. We had the idea for a sales-specific recruitment company in early 2007 and launched in July of that year. The recruitment market was changing a lot at the time: the Internet had given agencies and internal recruiters bigger access to talent than ever before but it had also made everything more crowded and chaotic. We wanted to make sense of that chaos. To build a company that connected rainmakers with smart, forward-thinking companies. To change the way sales careers were thought about.
While the old recruitment companies struggled to keep up, Sales Talent Agency thrived. We made our 1,000th placement just 5 years after launching, and have made 5,000 more since then. We learned from our clients and placements, and launched DNA/PRO™ in 2012, giving our recruiters and customers a candidate assessment methodology that has proven to be exceptional. We have interviewed more than 200,000 salespeople, from the most accomplished leaders to new graduates and everyone in between. We launched Canada’s biggest Student competition in 2014, helping introduce sales and – in many cases – employers to more than 14,000 university and college students across Canada. We launched our Executive Search practice in 2016, our Technical Sales practice in 2018, and our Customer Success practice in 2019. This year – through all the challenges and unpredictability – we launched STA Next™, our “agency within an agency” for early-career stage sales talent. We love creating new ways to tackle the toughest employment problems.
Along the way, we have been featured on Global News, in the Globe and Mail, and by hundreds of other media. In total, we have facilitated more than $500,000,000 of salaries since we launched. We have been recognized by Growth500 as one of Canada’s fastest-growing companies 6 times.
We are still passionate about our company and know we need to expand our leadership team to take it to the next level. Throughout our 13 years, we have been fortunate enough to attract some of the very best talent to our own organization. Two of those people are now officially joining our executive ranks in roles that are brand new to us and critical to our future.
Asad Zaman – Chief Executive Officer
Throughout our time we have never had an official President or CEO. While we had our individual roles and responsibilities, we have had one shared title: Founding Partner. It is time to have an operational leader of Sales Talent Agency and we are thrilled to promote Asad Zaman to this role. Asad is as passionate about sales recruitment as we are and – in 6 ½ years with STA – has been one of our biggest thinkers and most respected team members. Asad’s vision is to take our company to the next level through elite client and candidate experiences and we are both eager to support this quest.
Kristin Condon – Chief Customer Officer
While we have always prided ourselves on providing an elite customer experience, we have never had a true customer advocate internally. We believe this is a unique role that will give Sales Talent Agency an even bigger advantage in the coming years. Kristin Condon is our most accomplished contributor, having excelled early as an individual recruiter, and then as a team manager, and most recently as a Partner and Vice President. Any client who has ever had the privilege to have Kristin lead a search or a project knows just how incredible she is as a problem solver. We are so excited to support Kristin as she navigates this important mandate.
We will stay Founding Partners and passionate contributors, looking for ways to support Asad, Kristin, and our entire team as we all navigate the immediate impact of Covid, as well as the economies to come. Through it all, we will stay focused and enthusiastic. The journey is just getting started.
