Technical Sales Representative

Our client specializes in the production of high-quality chemicals, advanced treatment systems, and customized applications for wastewater treatment. With headquarters in Europe, their Canadian business has been well-supported and has experienced significant growth in their revenues and customer base in the past eight years. 
 
To support more exponential growth in the next two years (and beyond), they are seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join their team in the Lower Mainland. This individual will play a critical role in growing their presence in North America.

  • Headquartered in Denmark, the Canadian arm was founded in 2016 through the acquisition of a local firm with 30+ years of industry expertise.
  • Canada’s high-performing team is 10 today, with plans to triple in size in the next two years.
  • Revenues have more than doubled in the past eight years to $8M, and are tracking for $40M+ by 2027. 
  • Their client base has grown from 90 to 170 since 2016; future acquisitions may triple or quadruple this number in the next few years.

 
About You

  • Location: Lower Mainland (Hybrid – visit office in Richmond 2x/month)
  • 3 – 5 years of full-cycle sales experience with a focus on net-new client acquisition and territory management
  • Educational background in Chemistry or Biology: Ability to do calculations, read formulae, understand and describe chemical interactions and effects to customers (with support from team).
  • OR professional experience in Chemistry or Biology spaces: Selling chemicals, conducting research, etc.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written): Able to describe technical concepts and solutions to audiences with varied levels of technical expertise.

 
What They Offer

  • Compensation: $70K – $90K salary with uncapped commissions (total earnings of $100K – $180K in two years, depending on gross profit in territory)
  • Benefits: Car and fuel allowance, RRSP matching up to 3%, hybrid work (with occasional visits to Richmond office and periodic travel as needed within territory)
