The true understanding of sales and customer service was engrained in me at a very young age.
For over 40 years, my father has been an Entrepreneur and a business owner. I also grew up in an amazing area of the BC Rockies in a small resort community, which was developed purely by tourism. All of these elements of my upbringing exposed me to the value in sales and service.
This experience evolved into a sales and recruitment career after I did my first internship with Starbucks Canada as a recruitment coordinator. This opened my eyes to the world of recruitment, and how my passion for sales could be paired with my passion for working with people. My internship consisted mostly of administrative tasks and support; however, I was able to learn “the ropes” and began getting a foundation of knowledge, best practices, and developed my recruitment skills.
I went on to be a Permanent Recruiter with a global recruitment firm, and then Recruitment Manager for a Vancouver based entrepreneurial company. With over four years of recruitment and sales experience I had worked very closely with Monster as a client of theirs, which ultimately led me to become a Strategic Recruitment Consultant with them. I consulted with the top clients on how to develop recruitment strategies and how to build a strategic recruitment environment. This is where I was truly engrossed in a sales-driven organization - quotas were aggressive, and the client-based objectives were a thrill…but there was something missing -- the recruiting!
I met Jamie Scarborough in the middle of my career and have always been in love with Sales Talent Agency’s value proposition and the passion for the industry. Jamie is my business mentor and friend, the idea of working with him and Sonya Meloff makes so much sense, an “ah-hah moment”.
For the love of sales.
